Eight vendors make TIP group’s OpenBNG RFI shortlist
Eight vendors have been shortlisted for disaggregated broadband network gateway (BNG) telco trials by a group of top telcos that are running a programme at the Telecom Infra Project (TIP)’s latest entity, the Fixed Broadband Project Group.

OpenBNG unveils winners of multi-operator RFI
The winners emerged after a multi-operator RFI (request for information) to the supplier community from BT, Deutsche Telekom (DT), Telecom Italia, Telefónica, and Vodafone. In June 2021, the five operators assembled some 1,800 technical requirements for ‘opening up’ the BNG before launching the RFI the following month.
